“Retreat: Soul Care: Spending one day with Jesus

XXXX Baptist Church
Leaders: Stephen Smith and Dr. Clay Barnes
Description: The Soul Care retreat allows you to spend one day with Jesus. You’ll explore the following topics which will be taught and experienced: Reading the Bible with heart and soul-the practice of Lectio Divina; Exploring the Rhythms of the Soul—how work, rest and rhythm are modeled by Jesus and our need to live in His way and not our own; Experiencing two spiritual disciplines most needed in our busy and loud world—Silence and Solitude; develop a personal soul care plan that will be life giving to face the times ahead; Sabbath keeping and learning to listen for the Voice of Love. This is a “hands-on, high experiential retreat meaning teaching times are balanced with participants doing these spiritual exercises to grow their soul and deepen their faith in Jesus Christ.

Required Reading: Embracing Soul Care by Stephen W. Smith and suggested reading is Invitation to Silence and Solitude by Ruth Haley Barton.”
